How to identify years and options. The '68 has rectangular marker lights on the side, front and rear, while the '67 does not. The available options for the '67 were GT and XR-7. The available options for the '68 were GT, XR-7, GT-E, and XR-7G. The hoods for the GT-E (with 427 CID) and XR-7G had the "Twin-Scoop Power-Dome" hood scoop with two simulated intakes.(The 427 was replaced by the 428, and came with a different scoop starting in May of '68) The GT-E had blacked out front grill and tail lights, two toned paint, "competition" horizontal grill bar, bright lower side moldings, and the "7.0 Litre GT-E" front fender emblem. The '68 XR-7 had roof pillar emblems while the '67 had it on the rear quarter panel. The GT has the GT emblem on the front fender behind the wheel opening. |
