180 blue Ford Talladegas were selected to represent the Thank You cars, Custom Die Cast contest entry appreciation cars, and the new event called E.T. Racing. 60 of each color top were slated for each of the three events.

The 60 selected for the E.T Racer had Lightning Fest in yellow on the roof of the car. To win one of these beauties, a contestant would race either the sponsor, Gerald, or someone else willing to race. The winner reached into a box of "unknown" cars that consisted mostly of regular Johnny Lightning offerings placed into plastic protectors. Among the regular castings were 60 of these special Talladegas. It was an awesome event and raised a lot of money for charity.
